Obviously at Postage Meter Ink Cartridges, we are fans of clients who use postage meters and ink supplies for their mailings and packages. However, there is something very cute about writing a heartfelt letter and sticking a stamp on it. Especially when you use this as a tool to teach children.
In case you were unaware, the USPS dedicates the month of April annually to celebrate “National Card and Letter Writing Month”. As part of this year’s commemorative occasion, they issued a special Forever Stamp with decorative stickers to accompany the new sheet of stamps. These colorful stamps offer a simple message, “FROM ME TO YOU” as the focal point of the stamp. They make letters, greeting cards and envelopes feel personalized.
Today’s world is technology-centric. Everyone would rather send a quick text message or an email, therefore the art of letter writing is falling by the wayside. But according to teachers and professors, writing letters actually helps to promote penmanship skills in students, as well as improving social aptitude. Even more importantly, when you get a letter in the mail, it is memorable. Writing a letter requires more effort, making it more special as a caring gesture.
If you have kids, you should encourage them to write a letter to a relative or friend who lives far away. It is such a simple, yet lasting gesture in its ability to connect people, especially in a world of immediate, digital gratification.
As part of the Letter Writing Month celebrations, some classrooms across America are helping students to embrace this concept. One put out by Scholastic Parent & Child Magazine is called “It’s a Delight to Write”, which features lesson plans for teachers and a mystery mail, fan mail, and post pocket pals activity, among others. The Magazine reaches approximately 7.3 million readers and is distributed to over 80,000 teachers across the U.S.
And, in case you would rather opt for postage meter ink and supplies, rather than licking and sticking stamps, then you happen to be in the right place. We offer top brands in postage meter units and are available at 866-541-7627 to answer any questions.
